KUALA LUMPUR (June 16): Integrated industrial space solutions provider AME Elite Consortium Bhd is constructing a new 10,000 square meter high-performance factory for Switzerland headquartered EMS provider Enics AG, the company’s first manufacturing site in Southeast Asia.
Enics provides electronics manufacturing services ranging from engineering, full-scale manufacturing and after sales services to sourcing and supply chain management.
In a statement, AME Elite said the new high-volume manufacturing facility, to be situated at AME Elite’s i-Park @ Senai Airport City industrial park, would be Enics’ eighth manufacturing site globally, complementing its existing sites in Europe and China.
AME Elite targets to complete the construction of the new custom-built facility in an expedited time frame, to be delivered to Enics by the beginning of 2021.
AME Elite group managing director Kelvin Lee Chai said the company clinched this deal during Malaysia’s Movement Control Order, underscoring the urgent need by foreign industrial and manufacturing companies to actively diversify their supply chains to include Southeast Asia.
“This move capitalises on Malaysia’s conducive business environment, skilled workforce, and logistics infrastructure.
“We are committed to meeting Enics’ expedited requirements to start up production in early-2021.
“Our comprehensive end-to-end in-house capabilities, such as project design and construction prowess, including using industrialised building systems, enable us to deliver within the short timeline while maintaining the highest quality,” he said.
At midday break today, AME Elite shed 0.59% or 1 sen to RM1.69 with 1.02 million shares traded.
